Renee looked around curiously while she waited for Danika to get changed, glancing at the girl when she heard the door to the bathroom open. She smiled brightly at once, though it changed to an innocent grin at the question. “Beautiful,” she declared sweetly before nodding at her next question. “Yeah, follow me.” With that and a  vague beckoning gesture, Renee moved to the door and left the room, casting a quick glance back over her shoulder to make sure that the other girl would follow before heading down the hall and the stairwell. It didn’t take long and Renee mostly followed the scent of chlorine to actually get to the indoor pool. Pushing it open, she was delighted to see that there wasn’t anyone there just yet. “Perfect!” She declared happily before toddling off to one of the benches. Abandoning her towel there, she pulled off her shirt and pants, folding them neatly and adjusted her blue bikini carefully. With the enthusiasm of a child, Renee promptly took off towards the pool, slipping towards the end and tripping luckily right into the water.

Danika blushed a little when Renee told her she was beautiful. A lot of guys told her she was, but that was because they wanted something. She didn’t peg Renee as that type of person, so it made her feel beautiful. Danika followed her down the stair way and into the pool area. She saw her slip and fall into the water and Danika’s heart stopped for a second. Filled with panic and worry she dove into the pool after Renee. She pulled Renee up, not sure if she was okay or really hurt. Danika was sweet when she wasn’t high, shy and kept to herself some. She was always lost in her own world. It was how she was and most thought she was weird because of it. It was just another reason she used, feeling rejected and alone. Her family was ideal and she felt so undeserving of them, so lost and empty. The fact that she had no tragic story and a real reason she could think of to feel the way she did made her feel guilty and she could a way to not care for a little while, but Renee was so nice and the hope of a friend

Renee nodded slowly, frowning thoughtfully when Danika turned around though it quickly turned into a delighted smile when the girl hugged her. “Maybe you just actually need something so you don’t have to have that feeling,” she reasoned. It made perfect sense to her, anyway. “You need something or someone who you don’t have to think around and who makes you feel great, right?” She smiled at her logic. Simple-minded, the blonde figured it was as easy as that. Gently trying to comfort the girl by giving her a slight squeeze, she frowned with concern when Danika pulled away and wiped at her eyes, quickly smiling once more when Danika offered to swim with her. “Of course! I’d love it if you could swim with me. I didn’t really wanna go by myself anyway and I like talking to you too,” she tipped her head kindly, her smile only brightening when she realized that Danika was rambling. “Get changed and I’ll wait here for you, okay?” She said before stepping away to grab her towel from the ground where she had thrown it in her haste to sit with the girl on the bed.

Danika listened and she hoped it was that simple, but she knew it wasn’t. She however wasn’t going to tell Renee that. Why should both of them be miserable? Danika nodded and went to get changed into a black and white bikini. She came back in from the bathroom and smiled. “How do I look?” she asked, grinning. She grabbed a towel and then sat on the bed. Danika was trying to get clean for the first time in her life, really trying and for once she had a reason, to get to know this girl and not forget it in a haze of coke, pills and whiskey. “So, shall we head out?”
